Caiman Dawn 40:26

about

The Pantanal is the largest expanse of freshwater wetlands in the world. It comprises at least a dozen different ecosystems. This unique habitat stretches across three countries, mostly in southwestern Brazil and extending into Paraguay and Bolivia. It boasts a remarkably diverse range of fauna and flora including over 450 species of birds, at least 250 species of fish, and more than 10 million crocodilians––the planet's largest concentration of this family of reptiles which includes alligators, crocodiles and caiman.

The 4 dawn and morning soundscapes on this album were recorded over a period of several days from different locations along the Transpantaneira, a dusty unpaved road connecting the town of Poconé and the settlement of Porto Jofre in Mato Grosso, Brazil.
